Jodi Lynn Picoult (pronounced in English /ˈdʒoʊdi piːˈkoʊ/), who was born on May 19, 1966 , is an American author . She was awarded the 2003 New England Booksellers Award for Fiction . Picoult currently has 14 million copies of her books from her in print worldwide.

Born in May 1966 in Nesconset, Long Island, Jodi Lynn Picoult , known as Jodi Picoult , is an American writer specializing in young adult-oriented family drama novels. She studied Creative Writing at Princeton University and Education at Harvard. Since then she has worked in various jobs, such as editor, comic book writer or English teacher.
She had several short stories published in Seventeen magazine while she was a student at Princeton, and her first novel, Songs of the Humpback Whale , was published in 1992. Her novels have sold more than 14 million copies worldwide, with her most successful including Nineteen Minutes , The Hardest Choice , House Rules , Time to Go, or Big Little Things . He also publishes novels together with his daughter From him Samantha van Leer .
In 2007 he collaborated with DC Comics as a writer for Wonder Woman after the departure of Allan Heinberg.
Early years and education
Picoult was born in 1966 and grew up in Nesconset on Long Island ; her family moved to New Hampshire when she was 13 years old. She has described her family as “non-practicing Jews.” Picoult wrote her first story of hers at age 5, entitled “The Lobster Which she Misunderstood.”
He studied writing at Princeton University , graduating in 1987 . He published two short stories in Seventeen magazine while he was still in college. Immediately after graduating, he held a wide variety of jobs, ranging from textbook editing to teaching English to eighth graders. He earned a master ‘s degree in education from Harvard University .
Career
Picoult worked as a writer for an iteration of the Wonder Woman series for DC Comics for four issues after the departure of fellow writer, Allan Heinberg , in 2007 . Two of Picoult’s novels, Nineteen Minutes and Change of Heart , have been ranked number one on The New York Times Best Seller List .
Personal life
She is married to Tim Van Leer, whom she met in college. They and their three children, Sammy, Kyle, and Jake, and several pets, live in Hanover (Grafton County, New Hampshire) .
